~ALOHA ~
It was almost surreal to visit a place that’s been on my bucket list since I was a little girl. I for sure fell involve with PARADISE.
I have always been drawn to Hawaii, somehow knowing it was a place I would resonate with .. I couldn’t have been more right! Usually, you travel to a place without the intention of visiting again as you would have already explored it but Hawaii, I would travel back to in a heart beat. It’s not just the picturesque paradise, it’s the people and the happy-go-lucky vibe. Truly everything about Hawaii has this free-spirited humbleness to it. It is an extremely laid-back life-style which makes it so easy to forget all your worries and just be. I was lucky enough to sail around all of the Hawaii islands, docking and visiting different parts of the Big Island, Maui, Oahu and Kauai.
The sea sparkles and the surf is honestly close to best in the world, I caught a few waves and man it was liberating. The underwater world is glorious, so many tropical fish friends and free-diving with rays and turtles is the norm! There is an abundance of fresh fruit to devour under the beaming sunshine. The people are kind, gracious and generous, living in appreciation. The palm trees cast shadows on the golden brown sands. The sunsets are to die for, I’ll never forget sailing out of Nawiliwili, Kauai, sitting on the front of the ship in complete awe. The sky had this magical colour scheme of pinks, the air warm on my skin, the vibe joyous and my heart happy. Then, all of a sudden, the weather changed to this powerful thunderstorm swirling around in the sky, as we sailed the seas, it was truly something to behold!
Aloha is more than just a greeting in Hawaii, although it is used to say hello and goodbye. It can also express love and regards, as well as meaning the ‘aloha spirit’ by which Hawaiian islanders live.
This Pacific Gem is still part of the US, so you can experience the best of both worlds, in the city and in the wilderness.
My favourite swim was definitely at Blackrock Beach in Lahaina, Maui. We jumped off high rocks into the ocean and swam with more turtles than I can count. I for sure left my heart there. <3 I also left my infamous bucket hat there too, this was my very iconic hat I bought with my very first dance pay cheque, it was special but I was okay with leaving a part of me in Maui. I hope it brings as much happiness as it did to me to whichever Hawaii local wears it next. Hawaii is definitely my favourite place I have ever adventured. Some of my best and most special memories were made there. I hold this place close to my heart and feel like the luckiest being to have experienced and been there.
All to be remembered ~ Surfs at Waikiki beach, shopping in Honolulu, adventures in Kona, swims at Carlsmith Beach Park, lagoons in Hilo, and local vegan food which was to die for!
THANKFUL for all my amazing friends I got to experience this magic with and all during Show Days and even opening a new production show we had just learnt. I SMILE whenever I think back to being sunburnt backstage, dreaming about the next port and what cocktail we would drink when we got out of the theatre, and waking up extra early to get a glimpse of what we would explore later from the helipad, just before we had rehearsals.
I attached my short video vlog I made in Hawaii ~~
MAHALO HAWAII, I am head over heels in love with you.
